Bad News for South Carolina

After spending several seasons in the ACC, a veteran linebacker is leaving the South Carolina football program halfway through his first campaign with the Gamecocks.

Fifth-year senior linebacker Bangally Kamara plans to redshirt and re-enter the transfer portal, per GamecockCentral.com. Kamara played in only four games this season, and thus will be able to redshirt and play his final season of eligibility at another school.

Kamara, who transferred to South Carolina this past offseason following four years at Pittsburgh, can cover and run and has shown flashes of being a playmaker.

At Pitt, Kamara appeared in 48 contests, collecting 120 tackles including 11.5 tackles for loss and 5.0 sacks. For the Gamecocks this season, he posted nine tackles (one for loss).

Clemson will host South Carolina (3-2, 1-2 SEC) on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Death Valley.
