The massive changes keep coming for college football.

With the House Settlement getting preliminary approval on Monday and the sport one step closer to revenue sharing, reports have now surfaced that the NCAA plans to do away with the National Letter of Intent.

With schools on the verge of being allowed to share more than $20 million dollars annually with athletes, officials have been looking at eliminating the National Letter of Intent for the last few months.

The National Letter of Intent program began in 1964. It was a binding agreement that recruits signed tying them to a school for a year. Financial aid and scholarship agreements are now expected to be used instead.

While the House Settlement isn’t expected to be finalized until July, a new program will also need to be created that addresses the revenue-sharing model that is expected to be in place for the 2025-26 academic year.
