During his weekly Tuesday press conference, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney gave the latest injury update on Tyler Brown.
The sophomore wide receiver has missed the last three games with the ankle injury that eventually required a tightrope surgery.
Swinney said on Tuesday that Brown is still week-to-week.
“Getting better, getting better,” Swinney said. “But he’s still week-to-week.”
Brown was injured in the second game of the season against App State, playing just five snaps against the Mountaineers. He then missed the next game against NC State before returning the following week against Stanford and logging 22 snaps. His most recent game action came against Florida State on Oct. 5, when he played 17 snaps.
Last week, prior to Clemson’s game against Louisville, Swinney discussed the possibility of Brown taking a redshirt this season, given the time he has missed.
“I mean, that’s a possibility for sure, with where he is with the amount of games that he’s played,” Swinney said. “We have five games left, so if he misses a couple of more, then that is a decision”
Brown, a freshman All-American in 2023, has recorded five catches for 30 yards in the four games that he’s played in this season.
The explosive local product of Greenville High School led Clemson in receptions (52) and receiving yards (531) as a freshman. He also had four touchdown receptions.
