A former Clemson defender has been let go by this NFL team.
The Jacksonville Jaguars announced on Tuesday that they released linebacker Tanner Muse from their practice squad.
Muse joined the Jaguars earlier this year as an unrestricted free agent and signed with their practice squad in August. The 6-foot-2, 227-pounder played in three games with Jacksonville this season and recorded a tackle against the Indianapolis Colts on Oct. 6 after being elevated from the practice squad to the active roster for that contest. He also logged 56 snaps on special teams this season.
A third-round pick (100th overall) of the Raiders in the 2020 NFL Draft, Muse spent his rookie season with the Raiders in 2020, then played in 33 games across three seasons with the Seattle Seahawks (2021-22) and the Los Angeles Chargers (2023).
A two-time national champion at Clemson, Muse finished his career as a Tiger credited with 237 career tackles (10.5 for loss), 15 passes broken up, 4.0 sacks, seven interceptions for 102 yards (including a 64-yard return for a touchdown), a forced fumble and a 63-yard fumble return for a touchdown over 59 career games (39 starts).
