Injury Update on Veteran Clemson Pro

Grady Jarrett left the Atlanta Falcons’ game against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday with an injury. The former Clemson defensive lineman and NFL veteran was ruled out after suffering an Achilles strain in the fourth quarter.

On Monday, Falcons head coach Raheem Morris gave an injury update on Jarrett, saying he is day-to-day.

Jarrett underwent an MRI on Monday.

“I think it was good news today with all the imaging and all that type of stuff,” Morris said of Jarrett, via D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “I don’t know the exact terms, but I think he’s feeling better than he felt (Sunday).”

Jarrett added that his Achilles “tendon looked good” in Monday’s MRI and he’s positive about his recovery, per Josh Kendall of The Athletic.

Jarrett, who suffered a season-ending torn ACL last season, recorded two tackles, a sack and a tackle for loss before leaving Sunday’s game. In nine games this season (all starts), he has 30 total tackles, six tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and nine quarterback hits.

The 31-year-old is now in his 10th NFL season, all with the Falcons after he was selected by the franchise in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He has amassed 473 tackles, 74 tackles for loss and 36.5 sacks in his pro career to date.
