Kelly signed with Clemson as part of the 2012 class as a Top 100 prospect and as one of the top five quarterbacks in the class. After redshirting his first season, he would go 10-of-13 for 58 yards in five appearances as a redshirt freshman in 2013 after tearing his ACL in the spring game earlier that year.
After multiple disciplinary issues during his time with the Tigers, head coach Dabo Swinney dismissed the quarterback in April of 2014. He went on to transfer to East Mississippi Community College where he helped lead the team to a JUCO national title in his only season with the program. In 2015, he transferred to Ole Miss where he would finish his college career.
Kelly had stints with Denver and Indianapolis in the NFL before moving on to the CFL. This is his third season with the Argonauts and he was the league’s Most Outstanding Player in 2023.
