Swinney Gives Wednesday Injury Update on Two Starting O-Linemen

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media on Wednesday evening following his team’s practice.

In his final media availability of the week ahead of the 20th-ranked Tigers’ game at Pitt on Saturday, Swinney gave an injury update on two starting offensive linemen.

Swinney said left tackle Tristan Leigh and left guard Marcus Tate are both still day-to-day and are “just getting a little better each day.”

“Nothing has really changed. Just progressing all the way to gameday,” Swinney said. “Getting a little bit better each day.”

Tate did not play in last Saturday’s 24-14 win at Virginia Tech, while Leigh started the game but rolled his ankle on Clemson’s opening drive and did not return to the contest.

Saturday’s game between Clemson (7-2, 6-1 ACC) and Pittsburgh (7-2, 3-2) at Acrisure Stadium is set to kick off at 12 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
