Georgia will be without one of its top stars on the offensive side of the ball on Saturday when the No. 12 Bulldogs host No. 7 Tennessee.
Running back Trevor Etienne has been ruled out of the key matchup after suffering a rib injury in the November 2 win over Florida. Etienne did play in last weekend’s loss to Ole Miss, but was limited to just nine carries in the defeat.
Etienne was initially listed as questionable earlier in the week, but was ruled out on Thursday’s injury report.
It is a key loss for a Georgia team that comes in at 7-2 and looks to be playing for their playoff lives.
In his first season with the Bulldogs after transferring over from Florida, Etienne leads the team with 477 yards rushing and seven touchdowns, while averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
Other backs Roderick Robinson and Branson Robinson are both out as well and Cash Jones is questionable, meaning Nate Frazier could be the only back with any experience available for the contest.
