Klubnik: ‘I did some immature things’

CLEMSON — During his weekly press conference this past Tuesday, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said quarterback Cade Klubnik had his worst game of the season as a quarterback in last week’s win at Virginia Tech. Though he said it was his best game as a leader.

“Definitely, in the first half, I did some immature things that I don’t normally do,” Klubnik said. “I have not done it at all this season. There were a couple of times I should have thrown the ball away.”

Klubnik was charged all four of the sacks the 20th-ranked Tigers gave up in last week’s win. As for Klubnik, he bounced back in the second half and finished his afternoon throwing for 211 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 30 more yards.

The Tigers’ quarterback hopes his second-half performance against the Hokies rolls into Saturday’s game at Pittsburgh (noon, ESPN).
