The hits just keep on coming for Clemson’s 2025 recruiting class.
The Tigers’ have suffered a sixth decommitment, with 4-star safety Tae Harris being the latest to defect. The blue-chip talent has flipped to Georgia Tech after visiting for the Yellow Jackets win over NC State on Thursday night. This marks the fifth decommitment for Clemson since August.
Harris was at one time committed to Georgia, but backed off that verbal pledge in January after a change on the Bulldogs’ staff. He then committed to the Tigers in July.
Rivals ranks Harris No. 43 overall and No. 4 among all safeties. He is just the latest Top 100 talent to decommit from Clemson in this class. 4-star Bryce Davis, 4-star DL Isaiah Campbell and 4-star CB Graceson Littleton are other Top 100 prospects the Tigers have lost.
This is just one more example that the old days of recruiting are long gone. Any school is capable of landing or flipping a prospect in the NIL era. These days, things like culture, development and national relevance matter far less in what has become a transactional process.
