Shane Beamer is losing one of the key members of his staff to a head coach opening in the Sun Belt. South Carolina offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains is headed to App State to be the new head coach.
Loggains has spent the last two seasons on the Gamecocks staff and now Beamer will have to look for a new architect on offense. The news of Loggains being the Mountaineers’ target was initially reported by ESPN’s Pete Thamel when it was still in the works and now it’s official according to CBS Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

Former App State head coach Shawn Clark was 40-24 in the role, so Loggains will have high expectations in Boone.
