One of Clemson’s ACC foes is reportedly set to host one of the top transfer portal signal-callers this week.

According to reports, the Seminoles will be welcoming Boston College transfer quarterback Thomas Castellanos on a visit. His visit to Tallahassee is expected to begin Wednesday.

Missouri and Vanderbilt are two other programs reportedly in the mix for Castellanos’ services.

Castellanos stepped away from the Boston College program in mid-November, as he wasn’t happy when he got benched in favor of Eagles junior quarterback Grayson James with three games left in the regular season.

Castellanos, a junior, announced his intent to enter the transfer portal on Nov. 14. The Waycross, Ga., native has one year of eligibility remaining.

The 5-foot-10, 196-pounder spent two seasons at BC (2023-24) after starting his career at UCF in 2022, when he played for Gus Malzahn, who is now FSU’s offensive coordinator.

For BC this season, Castellanos completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 1,366 yards and 18 touchdowns with five interceptions, while he also rushed for 194 yards and a touchdown on 93 carries.

In 2023, Castellanos started 12 games and played in all 13, racking up 2,248 passing yards and 1,113 rushing yards to become the first 2,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher in BC history, and just the fifth in the ACC since 1996. He had a 57.3 completion percentage and threw for 15 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
