Clemson Signee Earns Huge Honor

Gideon Davidson turned in a strong senior campaign that helped lead LCA to a second consecutive state championship.

The 4-star RB, and Clemson signee, has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Virginia.

Davidson capped his high school career by rushing for 181 yards in the 42-6 win over Kettle Run in the state title game last weekend. 153 of those yards came in the first half, as the blue-chip talent had three rushing touchdowns and also reeled in a touchdown catch.

The win finished off a remarkable high school career for Davidson. He finishes with more than 7,700 rushing yards, good for second-most all-time in the state, and 122 touchdowns.

Davidson is one of the highest-rated signees in the Tigers’ 2025 class, ranking as high as No. 63 overall, No. 2 among all running backs and tops in his state. He is scheduled to arrive on campus on Tuesday and make the trip with the team to Austin for the opening round of the College Football Playoff against Texas.
