The Clemson football program is adding this wide receiver from the NCAA transfer portal.
Dabo Swinney’s team has secured a portal pickup, as Southeast Missouri State transfer receiver Tristan Smith announced his commitment to the Tigers on Monday night via social media.
Smith marks Clemson’s first-ever transfer commitment from a skill position player.
On Dec. 2, he announced that he had entered the transfer portal with one year of eligibility remaining.
As a junior this season, Smith recorded 76 receptions for 934 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for a score.
Smith played two seasons at Hutchinson Community College in Kansas before transferring to Southeast Missouri State.
The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder from LaGrange, Ga., played in seven games and had two receptions for 91 yards with one touchdown as a freshman in 2022 before catching 14 passes for 140 yards and a touchdown in 10 games during the 2023 campaign.
Smith played football and basketball at LaGrange High School.
Clemson lost two receivers to the portal this month in Troy Stellato and Noble Johnson.
