Priority CB Target Sets Return Visit to Clemson

Samari Matthews has been a frequent visitor to Clemson over the past year.

The 4-star cornerback, out of William Amos Hough (NC), who took multiple game-day visits this season, now knows when he will be on campus next.

Matthews is slated to make several stops after the first of the year and will be in Clemson on February 1.

“Clemson is high on my list,” Matthews recently told TCI. “Very high.”

Other schools set to get visits are South Carolina on January 11, Florida State on January 18 and Tennessee on January 25.

Matthews is arguably the Tigers’ top target at corner. He was the first player in the 2026 class to announce an offer from Clemson last summer.

Rivals ranks Matthews No. 30 overall, No. 3 among all corners and No. 4 in the state of North Carolina.
