With Clemson’s 2024 season now over, quarterback Cade Klubnik fielded a question about his plans for next year.
Following 12th-seeded Clemson’s 38-24 loss at No. 5 seed Texas in the College Football Playoff First Round Game on Saturday, Klubnik was asked if he will come back to Clemson for his senior season in 2025.
“I’m just trying to deal with the emotions of tonight,” Klubnik said during his postgame press conference. “I got to play my last football game with a lot of these guys, so I’m not really thinking about me right now. I’m just trying to think about all the relationships that I’ve built over the last three years. That’s really all I’m thinking about right now.”
Klubnik went 26-of-43 passing for 336 yards and three touchdowns with one interception against Texas.
Entering Saturday’s game against the Longhorns, Klubnik ranked third nationally this season in passing touchdowns (33) and 12th nationally in passing yards (3,303). Prior to Saturday, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound junior from Austin, Texas, had thrown just five interceptions this season and had rushed for 458 yards and seven more scores on the ground.
