Pollack: ‘Klubnik Will Be in the Heisman Conversation’

Clemson’s veteran quarterback could make history in 2025.

No Tiger has won the Heisman Trophy, even the historic pair of Deshaun Watson and Trevor Lawrence failed to do so as finalists. Cade Klubnik proved the level of quarterback he is in 2024 and it’s drawn David Pollack to believe he could enter rare air.

“I think he’ll stay and I think Cade Klubnik will be in the Heisman conversation next year. That’s how good I think he is,” Pollack said.

Klubnik finished the 2024 season with over 4,000 total yards, 43 total touchdowns and just five interceptions. His 336-yard, three-touchdown day against No. 5 Texas in the College Football Playoff was nothing short of spectacular to keep Clemson’s hopes alive in the second half.

“What he did to Texas, Texas gave up four touchdown passes all year. He had three and he was dropping the deep ball in the bucket, he was making plays and again, no run game to speak of,” Pollack said.

There’s still a discussion to be had as Klubnik has the option to enter the NFL Draft but if he returns, it would be tough to name quarterbacks better than the would-be senior Clemson star.
