Bad News for Miami

A Final Four coach is stepping down in the ACC.

After 14 years at Miami, Jim Larranaga is stepping down from his head coaching position per multiple reports. The Hurricanes are 4-8 and have home losses to both Charleston Southern and Mount St. Mary’s this season.

Larranaga was one of the spearheads in the new NIL era of college basketball, building a roster that reached the Final Four in 2023 but the program has taken a quick downturn since.

With Larranaga’s expected retirement, Clemson’s Brad Brownell is now the second-longest tenured coach in the ACC, only behind Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton with 22 years.
