5-Star Signee Tabbed as Player of the Year

Amare Adams’ high school career may be over, but the accolades continue.

After helping guide South Florence to its second state title in three years, Adams has been named the Pee Dee region’s Player of the Year by the Morning News. Adams was also tabbed as the outlet’s preseason Player of the Year.

“South Florence defensive lineman Amare Adams struck fear in offensive linemen. When his 6-foot-4, 285-pound frame was in the trenches, quarterbacks had to also worry about his speed. Whether they liked it or not, Adams was coming. Just ask Cutter Woods, Westside’s quarterback in December’s state championship game against the Bruins. Adams’ game-changing sack in the fourth quarter set the tone for the Bruins to score the winning touchdown and secure their second crown in three years.” – Morning News

The 5-star Clemson signee finished his senior season with 75 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 57 assists, 18 solo, six sacks, two passes deflected and a forced fumble.

Adams committed to the Tigers just before the state title game in December of 2023. He was the highest-rated player Clemson signed in the 2025 class. Adams is already on campus and was with the team in Austin for its loss to Texas in the first round of the College Football Playoff.
