One of Clemson’s ACC foes has picked up a promising talent via another ACC program.
Florida State landed a commitment from North Carolina transfer linebacker Caleb LaVallee on Friday.
LaVallee is a former four-star prospect who was ranked as the nation’s No. 18 inside linebacker in the 2023 recruiting class.
The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder spent the first two years of his college career at UNC. After appearing in four games as a true freshman in 2023, he played in 10 games for the Tar Heels during his redshirt freshman campaign in 2024, totaling 14 tackles with one tackle for loss and a blocked punt.
LaVallee showed his potential during UNC’s Fenway Bowl loss to UConn on Dec. 28, when he led the Tar Heels with nine tackles while making his first career start.
The Smyrna, Ga., native will have three years of eligibility left.
