Clemson Transfer Will Play Tigers Next Season

This Clemson transfer has found his new college home. He’s staying in the ACC and will play the Tigers next season.

Former Tiger defensive end A.J. Hoffler has committed to Georgia Tech.

The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to host Clemson in 2025 at a date to be announced.

Hoffler entered the transfer portal last week. The 6-foot-4, 255-pound sophomore will have two years of eligibility left.

A former four-star prospect from Woodward (Ga.) Academy, Hoffler spent two seasons at Clemson (2023-24) and was credited with 17 tackles (1.5 for loss) and two pass breakups in 319 defensive snaps over 21 career games.

Across 14 games during the 2024 campaign, Hoffler tallied 13 tackles (1.5 for loss) in 245 defensive snaps.

Hoffler was ranked as the country’s No. 37 edge defender and No. 312 overall prospect nationally in the 2023 recruiting class, according to the 247Sports Composite. The Florida native moved to Georgia at a young age and finished his high school career at Atlanta’s Woodward Academy with 90 tackles, 28 tackles for loss and 15 sacks, along with one interception, one fumble recovery and six forced fumbles.
