Another high-profile offensive line target has confirmed his plans to be on hand for the Elite Retreat on January 25.
4-star Maxwell Riley (Avon Lake, OH) tells The Clemson Insider that he will return to Clemson for the annual event. He was last on campus in late November for the Tigers’ blowout win over The Citadel.
The 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect picked up an offer from Clemson back in June when the Tigers started handing out offers to players in the 2026 class.
Riley has more than two dozen offers and is working with a Top 7 that features Oklahoma, Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, Missouri, Michigan State and Clemson.
During the season, Riley only visited Clemson, Ohio State and Michigan State and in a recent interview said those were the three schools that were currently at the top of his list.
Riley also noted that he was getting closer to making a decision, meaning this next visit could be a big one.
“I’m hoping by January or February I will have a good idea,” he told TCI recently. “I’ve been going through the recruiting process since January of my freshman year. I’ve had the opportunity to visit a lot of schools and stuff and put out a top seven over the summer.”
Riley is just one of several bigtime offensive line targets to tell TCI they would be on hand for the Elite Retreat. 4-stars Chancellor Barclay, Zyon Guiles, Desmond Green, Leo Delaney, Carter Scruggs and Grant Wise are also set to be in attendance.
