TCI Recruiting Roundup: Luke, Swinney Staying Busy on Trail, New Name to Know

Matt Luke has been busy on the recruiting trail this week.

Clemson’s offensive line coach has made numerous stops checking in on some of the Tigers’ top OL targets and Thursday was no different.

Luke stopped in to see 4-star Grant Wise (Pace, FL). The 6-foot-3, 310-pound prospect recently released a Top 12 of Clemson, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Florida, Texas A&M and Ohio State.

Wise picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers for the 2026 class back in the summer. He worked out at camp in June and then returned for Clemson’s Homecoming win over Stanford. He plans to return to Clemson for the Elite Retreat on January 25.

“The level they care for their players outside of football is huge,” Wise told TCI after the visit. “They prepare them for not just the next level of football, which they do that really well, but they also prepare them for life after football. I think that’s important. I really like that. And I just like the culture of the program and how all the coaches coach together, and all the players play together. They’re all one team and I think that’s huge.”

Wise currently has close to three dozen offers and the 6-foot-3, 300-pounder ranks as high as No. 130 overall and No. 2 among interior linemen in his class.

Luke also paid a visit to 4-star Canon Pickett (Tampa Bay Tech, FL). The 6-foot-3, 310-pound offensive linemen is a new name to know, as Pickett has yet to pick up an offer from Clemson.

The blue-chip talent has more than two dozen offers, including Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Oregon and Penn State.

Pickett ranks No. 307 overall and No. 26 among interior linemen in the 247 Composite Rankings.

Head coach Dabo Swinney and defensive ends coach Chris Rumph were out making stops on Wednesday. The two coaches checked in on 4-star DE Dre Quinn (Greater Atlanta Christian).

Quinn picked up an offer from Clemson in November after an unofficial visit for the Louisville game.

“I was just ecstatic,” Quinn told TCI after the offer. “Even though I was kind of expecting it, I was smiling from ear-to-ear. I really like Clemson.”

Quinn has more than two dozen offers including Georgia, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Auburn, Florida State and LSU.
