Elite-Level Edge Set to Visit for Elite Retreat

The visitor list for Clemson’s Elite Retreat on March 8 continues to grow.

4-star edge rusher Camron Brooks tells The Clemson Insider that he will attend the event. Brooks has well over 30 offers with most every high-level football program having pulled the trigger. Brooks picked up his offer from Clemson back in early September.

Members of the Tigers’ coaching staff, including Dabo Swinney, were in to see Brooks on Thursday. In fact, Swinney and Georgia head coach Kirby Smart were there at the same time,

Earl Brooks, Camron’s father, took to Facebook to shed some insight on what transpired.

“Today, we were blessed with a very rare opportunity of a lifetime,” the elder Brooks posted. “We got to speak with two legendary coaches, Kirby Smart (UGA) & Dabo Swinney(Clemson). The funny part was one coach (not going to say which one lol) was taking up most of the time so the other one just busted in the room to let the other one know he was taking to long. Therefore, we got the opportunity to talk to both at the same time for a lil while. Which is very rare.”

Brooks also tells TCI that as of this moment he has no other visits locked in.

The 6-foot-3, 240-pound prospect is ranked No. 88 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings and No. 9 among all edge rushers. He also ranks No. 12 in the state of Georgia.
