Decision day is nearing for Clemson target Tyler Merrill.
The 4-star offensive lineman has announced that he will make a commitment on Thursday.
Earlier this week, the 6-foot-6, 325-pound recruit, out of Cumberland Valley, PA, announced his five finalists which consisted of Clemson, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Ohio State. He is fresh off a weekend visit to South Bend.
Merrill picked up his offer from the Tigers last June after an impressive showing at camp. In total, he has well over two dozen offers.
“I am highly impressed,” Merrill told TCI in a previous interview. “Definitely not what I expected coming into this. I can tell why Coach Swinney is there and why he believes, it’s an awesome place.”
Merrill last visited for the home-opening blowout win over App State in September. Offensive line coach Matt Luke paid him an in-home visit last week.
The blue-chip talent is the No. 2 prospect in the state of Pennsylvania, No. 7 interior offensive lineman nationally and No. 87 overall prospect in the country for the 2026 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
