One of Clemson’s 2026 offensive line targets has come off of the board.
4-star Tyler Merrill (Cumberland Valley, PA) announced a commitment to Notre Dame on Thursday, choosing the Fighting Irish over other finalists Clemson, Penn State, Wisconsin and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-6, 325-pound recruit picked up his offer from the Tigers last June after working out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. Merrill had close to 30 in total.
Merrill, who is fresh off a visit to South Bend, visited Clemson twice since last summer. Once was for his appearance and camp and he was also on hand for the Tigers’ home-opening win over App State in September.
The highly-touted prospect ranks No. 61 overall in the 247 Composite Rankings and No. 5 among all interior linemen in the class.
The Tigers currently have five players committed in the 2026 class. 4-star QB Tait Reynolds, 4-star CB Shavar Young Jr., 3-star TE Tayveon Wilson, 3-star QB Brock Bradley and 3-star OL Braden Wilmes.
