Samari Matthews has cut his list of schools down to four.
The 4-star cornerback (William Amos Hough, Cornelius, NC) released the list of finalists on Friday, which also coincides with his 17th birthday. Clemson, South Carolina, Oregon and Florida State all made the cut.
Matthews has been a frequent visitor to Clemson over the past year, with the last one coming in November when the Tigers hosted Louisville. He has already confirmed with TCI his plans to attend the Elite Retreat on March 8.
“Clemson is high on my list,” Matthews recently told TCI. “Very high.”
The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back has well over three dozen offers and was the first player in the 2026 recruiting class to announce an offer from the Tigers.
The 247 Composite ranks Matthews No. 57 overall, No. 5 among all corners and No. 7 in the state of North Carolina.
