Where 3 Tigers Landed in Updated 7-Round Mock Draft

Pro Football Network recently released an updated seven-round, 2025 NFL Mock Draft.

The mock draft projects a trio of Clemson Tigers to be selected in April’s draft.

Pro Football Network’s mock draft has Clemson linebacker Barrett Carter going to the Los Angeles Rams with the 100th overall pick – the final pick of the third round.

“Barrett Carter’s collegiate career leaves more questions than answers,” Pro Football Network wrote. “What isn’t up for debate, though, is his impressive athleticism, range as a tackler, and capabilities in zone coverage across the middle of the field.”

A two-time All-America selection and two-time All-ACC honoree, Carter was credited by Clemson’s coaching staff with 254 tackles (31.5 for loss), 12.5 sacks, 24 pass breakups, three interceptions, two forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries over 52 games (40 starts) from 2021-24. At the conclusion of his career, Carter’s 2,482 career snaps were the most by a Tiger linebacker on record. He was the only player in the nation during his four-year career to record at least 30 tackles for loss, at least 20 pass breakups and three or more interceptions.

Meanwhile, Pro Football Network sees Clemson tight end Jake Briningstool coming off the board a couple of rounds after Carter. PFN projects Briningstool to be taken in the fifth round by the New England Patriots with the No. 144 overall pick.

Briningstool wrapped up his Clemson career (2021-24) with 127 receptions for 1,380 yards and 17 touchdowns over 48 career games (26 starts). The two-time All-ACC selection is Clemson’s all-time leader in career receptions by a tight end and finished second in school history in receiving touchdowns and receiving yards by a tight end, while he finished his career tied for the seventh-most receptions by a tight end in ACC history. His three career 100-yard receiving games were a Clemson tight end record.

Rounding out the Clemson picks in PFN’s mock draft is running back Phil Mafah, as a seventh-round pick (No. 244 overall) of the Baltimore Ravens.

Mafah was hampered all year by a shoulder injury but still recorded the 24th 1,000-yard rushing season in Clemson history in 2024 (1,115 yards). For his career from 2021-24, Mafah had 561 rushing attempts for 2,887 yards and 28 touchdowns, as well as 58 receptions for 309 yards across 50 games (21 starts). He finished his career ranked ninth in Clemson history in career rushing yards and tied for 10th in career rushing touchdowns.

The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to be held from April 24-26 inside and around iconic Lambeau Field and Titletown in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
