Watch: Cool Feature on Shipley’s Path to Super Bowl

When “The Big Game” kicks off Sunday, it will be a thrill for Will Shipley and his family.

As his rookie season comes to an end, Philadelphia Eagles running back/special teamer Will Shipley is set to take the field for Super Bowl LIX against the Kansas City Chiefs in New Orleans (6:30 p.m., FOX).

Shipley is coming off an unforgettable performance in the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders in Philadelphia on Jan. 26, when he shined while tallying 165 all-purpose yards, two tackles, a forced fumble and his first career NFL touchdown.

A Charlotte-area native, Shipley has quickly gone from being a Weddington High School and Clemson star, to a 2024 fourth-round draft pick last April, to now a Super Bowl participant.

WCNC Charlotte sports director Nick Carboni outlined Shipley’s path to The Big Game in a cool feature, which you can see below.

“He has enjoyed the season more than I’ve seen him enjoy any sports season ever. So he is just patiently waiting for his time,” Shipley’s mother said.

“But we can’t wait to get to New Orleans and just see him hopefully win one more game and come home with the Super Bowl,” Shipley’s father added.
