Boulware ‘Full of Regret’

As Clemson’s new linebackers coach after a recent promotion, Ben Boulware wants to inspire the guys in his room and lead by example, and the legendary Tiger linebacker is proving he’s willing to do just that.

Boulware decided to do what his players have to do – and go through mat drills himself.

Unfortunately for Boulware, that is a decision he admittedly regrets.

“Told the LB’s I wouldn’t ask them to do anything, that I couldn’t do,” Boulware wrote in a funny social media post.

“I am now full of regret.”

Those mat drills apparently took a toll on the 30-year-old Boulware, who is now in his second year on Dabo Swinney’s staff after starring as a player on Swinney’s team from 2013-16 and helping lead the Tigers to a national title in his final season.

“Mat drills have about put me in the grave,” he wrote. “Never in my life has my heart rate got to 200.”
