The Elite Retreat continues to deliver for Clemson.
The Tigers have picked up their sixth commitment since Friday, with three-star cornerback Marcell Gipson (South Oak Cliff, Dallas TX) announcing a verbal pledge via social media.
Gipson just picked up his offer this weekend during the visit, choosing to quickly shut his recruitment down.
The 5-foot-11, 185-pound defensive back chose Clemson over the 30 other offers that included Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Pitt, SMU and Wisconsin.
This is the sixth commitment for Dabo Swinney coming off the Elite Retreat this weekend, with Gipson joining four-star offensive linemen Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise and Chance Barclay and four-star wideouts Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin as players to announce.
Gipson’s addition to the class now gives the Tigers 11 verbal pledges in a class that currently ranks inside of the Top 5 in the 247 Composite Rankings. He is the second corner to commit, joining four-star Shavar Young Jr.
