The recruiting success continues for Clemson.
Four-star safety Kaden Gebhardt (Olentangy, Lewis Center, Ohio) has announced a commitment to the Tigers. He chose Clemson over Penn State.
Gebhardt picked up his offer in January after an unofficial visit and returned for the Elite Retreat last weekend. He is the seventh player to commit since Friday.
“Just the coaching staff,” Gebhardt recently told TCI. “I already had a great relationship with Coach Allen at Penn State. He’s actually the one that offered me at Penn State. So I have a great relationship with him, Coach Conn, I love Coach Conn. He’s the one that reached out to me. Then we set up that visit to come down. I made sure to get down there as quickly as possible, that’s for sure. And then Coach Swinney. He’s a great dude and a great coach. You can’t get much better than that.”
Gebhardt is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 215 overall prospect in the country, No. 17 safety nationally and the eighth-best prospect in the state of Ohio for the 2026 class.
The 6-foot-2, 195-pounder holds more than two dozen Division I offers, including Duke, Illinois, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Southern Cal, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Grbhardt’s commitment gives Clemson 11 verbal pledges for the 2026 class that is currently ranked inside of the Top 5 nationally.
