National Analyst Predicts Clemson Appearance In National Title Game

One national analyst is high on Clemson heading into the NCAA Tournament.

During the selection show on Sunday, CBS Sports’ Clark Kellogg predicted Brad Brownell’s team making it to the Final Four for the first time in program history.

“Clemson is my dark horse. They are rugged,” Kellogg said. “They almost got to the Final Four last year.”

Kellogg’s prediction also included the Tigers knocking off No. 1 seed Duke in the Final Four and advancing to the national title game to face off against No. 1 seed Florida.

However, Kellogg stopped just short of predicting the Tigers would win it all.

“I am taking Clemson in San Antonio against the Gators,” Kellogg added. “And I am going with the Gators as my champ.”

Clemson (27-6) is the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Region and will begin the tournament by taking on No. 12 seed McNeese (27-6) on Thursday.

Last season saw the Tigers make it into the Elite Eight for just the second time in program history and the first time since 1980.

This season, Clemson set a program record for regular season wins, ACC wins and ACC road wins. The Tigers advanced to the semifinal round of the ACC Tournament but were eliminated by Louisville 76-73.
