The Clemson men’s basketball team is losing another player to the transfer portal.
The Clemson Insider has confirmed that forward Chauncey Wiggins plans to enter his name into the transfer portal.
Wiggins becomes Clemson’s third transfer portal departure since the season came to an end last Thursday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, joining forward Asa Thomas and guard Del Jones.
As a junior for the Tigers this past season, Wiggins averaged 8.3 points, 2.9 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. The 6-foot-10, 216-pounder played in all 34 games (26 starts) and averaged 23.6 minutes per contest while shooting 43.8 percent from the field and 36.5 percent from 3-point range.
In 2023-24, Wiggins appeared in all 36 games for Clemson (18 starts) en route to the Elite Eight, averaging 17.7 minutes, 5.4 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while shooting 44.2 percent from the floor and 34.9 percent from 3.
As a freshman the season prior, the Grayson, Ga., native played in 27 games and averaged 8.9 minutes per game with 2.4 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists per contest.
Wiggins was rated a three-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class. He was the No. 183 overall prospect in the country for his class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Wiggins, who was high school teammates with Ian Schieffelin at Grayson High School, chose Clemson over NC State, Georgia, South Florida and Maryland.
