Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney met with the media after Wednesday’s scrimmage at Memorial Stadium.
Swinney gave injury updates on Clemson’s starting left tackle, redshirt senior Tristan Leigh, as well as redshirt sophomore running back Jarvis Green and redshirt junior safety Kylon Griffin.
Leigh was on a scooter at Monday’s practice and his left leg was heavily wrapped, while Green was wearing a boot on his right foot and wasn’t participating in Monday’s practice as well.
Following Wednesday’s scrimmage, Swinney said that Green suffered a mid-foot sprain in a recent practice, so he will be out for the next several weeks.
“Those (mid-foot sprains) are painful and sore, and it’s going to probably put him out for about four or five weeks or so,” Swinney said.
As for Leigh, Swinney said “he had a little procedure just to help him kind of get over that ankle (injury) a little bit.”
“So, he’ll be fine,” Swinney added.
Meanwhile, Griffin has a leg strain and is out for the rest of the spring.
“Kylon has had a great spring. Unfortunately, he got hurt the other day,” Swinney said. “He just had a strain in his leg, so he’s going to be out for the rest of spring.”
Griffin enters the 2025 season credited with 39 tackles (0.5 for loss), three interceptions and two pass breakups in 523 snaps over 26 career games (four starts), including 28 tackles, two pass breakups and an interception in 363 defensive snaps over 13 games (four starts) last season.
A former five-star recruit who assumed a starting role in 2023, Leigh enters the 2025 season having played 1,587 offensive snaps over 32 career games (23 starts) from 2021-24. Last season, he logged 761 offensive snaps, seventh-most on the team, and started all 12 games in which he appeared.
Green enters the upcoming season credited with 12 carries for 57 yards, two receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown in 37 career offensive snaps over 11 games. His first career reception came in the College Football Playoff game at Texas last season, and his first career touchdown came on a 25-yard catch later in that contest.
