Tyler Grisham has done it again.
For the second time in three years, Grisham has gone out and put together one of the best receiver classes in the country. In fact, this group of 2026 wideouts might just be the best in the nation.
With the addition of four-star Gordon Sellars to the class, the Tigers now have three receivers that ESPN ranks inside the Top 150 overall. Each of the three also ranks inside the Top 25 at the position.
Four-star Naeem Burroughs is the highest ranked, with one service ranking him as high as the sixth-best receiver in the class. ESPN has him at No. 15, with Connor Salmin coming in at No. 23 and Sellars at No. 25.
This group of wideouts is reminiscent of the one Grisham landed in the 2024 class, when the Tigers signed Bryant Wesco and T.J. Moore. Both of those recruits were ranked five-stars at one point or another, and both made instant impacts.
When this new crop of receivers arrives at Clemson, Wesco and Moore will be heading into their junior seasons, meaning the timing couldn’t be any better. It’s very possible those two head off to the NFL after the 2026 season. Adding Burroughs, Salmin and Sellars to the roster at that time should ease the loss of Wesco and Moore, should both choose to forgo their senior seasons and enter the draft.
Obviously, in the NIL era, securing a commitment is just one step in the process. Holding onto those commitments, at times, can be just as difficult, and early signing day is still about nine months away. However, as things stand right now, there is no reason to suggest the Tigers won’t sign all three come December.
Either way, it’s readily apparent that Grisham has more than proven his worth as a recruiter. Entering his fifth season as the Tigers’ wide receivers coach, Grisham has taken his share of heat during his tenure, and for a multitude of reasons. One of those has been an inability to land elite talent.
Looking at the receivers Grisham has procured over the past three recruiting cycles, maybe it’s time for that narrative to change.
