Bad News for South Carolina

The South Carolina football program got some bad news Monday.

Highly regarded Gamecocks offensive lineman Kam Pringle took to social media Monday afternoon and announced his decision to enter the NCAA transfer portal.

A former Clemson target, Pringle appeared in one game as a true freshman last fall and redshirted the 2024 season. The 6-foot-8, 336-pounder has four years of eligibility left.

β€œAfter discussing with my family and thinking long and hard on my decision, I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal with 4 years of eligibility remaining,” Pringle wrote in a social media post. β€œI look forward to the opportunities God has in store for me!”

A native of Dorchester, S.C., and Woodland High School product, Pringle enrolled at South Carolina in January 2024. The former four-star prospect was the No. 15 offensive tackle and No. 180 overall prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Pringle helped Woodland to an 8-3 record as a senior and was named the Class 2A Lower State Defensive Lineman of the Year by the South Carolina Football Coaches Association. He was also named an Under Armour All-American and was selected to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas following his senior season.
