CHARLOTTE — Over the past couple of years, Clemson has been stacking talent at the wide receiver position.
With players like Antonio Williams, Bryant Wesco and T.J. Moore already on the roster, there is no shortage of talent heading into the upcoming season. With three four-stars already committed for the 2026 class, the future also looks bright.
The latest to commit was four-star Gordon Sellars, who announced a verbal pledge on Friday. He joins four-star wideouts Naeem Burroughs and Connor Salmin, who both announced in March during the Elite Retreat.
Standing 6-foot-3, Sellars is slightly different compared to Burroughs and Salmin. While he might not have the blistering speed those two guys possess, he gives the Tigers some length and athleticism on the outside. And his motor never stops running.
“I am a different player, I take the game with a different mindset,” Sellars said. “I won’t get tired no matter what. Keep that motor running. Just a dawg that nobody can guard. Just go out there and play. Whether it’s ups or downs, I never got too high on my high or too low on my low.”
In fact, Sellars sees himself fitting the mold of a former Clemson standout who is now starring for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL.
“A receiver that I see myself like is Tee Higgins,” Sellars said. “Tall, long receiver. Big body receiver. Go make plays.”
Sellars took tremendous strides as a junior at Providence Day, helping lead the team to an appearance in the state title game. He reeled in 50 catches for 975 yards with 10 touchdowns, leading the team in all three of those categories.
Not only is Sellars a playmaker, but he also enjoys doing the dirty work that comes with playing the position. Those are traits his current head coach, Chad Grier, believes will serve the blue-chip wideout well at the next level.
“They are getting a dawg,” Grier said. “Make no mistake, the kid can play. He is 6-foot-3, 195. He is strong, he is fast. He can run, he can jump. He is a teammate, and he will be a willing blocker. He will run his route full speed, whether he is getting the ball or not. He is just a great player.”
