Clemson Takes Tumble In Baseball Rankings

After dropping its second consecutive ACC series, the Clemson baseball team took a tumble in the latest D1 Baseball Rankings.

The Tigers dropped six spots in the updated rankings, falling to No. 9, after dropping two out of three at Florida State over the weekend.

In the opening game of the weekend series, Clemson squandered a two-run lead in the bottom of the ninth and a one-run lead in the bottom of the tenth before eventually falling to the Seminoles in the eleventh inning. The Tigers did respond with a 6-3 win in game two, but were hammered 20-9 in the series finale on Sunday.

Florida State moved up five spots to No. 2.

The series loss comes on the heels of Erik Bakich watching his team get swept in Raleigh by NC State last weekend. The Wolfpack fell three spots to No. 16 after losing a midweek game to UNC-Wilmington and dropping both of its games at Miami over the weekend. The series finale was canceled due to weather.
