Former Clemson Star Inks Rookie Deal

Barrett Carter is feeling very blessed.

The former Clemson star linebacker is one of four players who signed their rookie deals with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday.

Via the Bengals’ official site (Bengals.com):

“The Bengals today signed four draft picks — G Dylan Fairchild, LB Barrett Carter, OT Jalen Rivers and HB Tahj Brooks. Four of the Bengals’ six selections in the 2025 NFL Draft now have been signed.”

Carter was selected No. 119 overall by the Bengals in the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot, 231-pounder expressed his excitement after inking his rookie contract.

“I want to scream very loud right now,” Carter said in a video from the Bengals on social media. “I’m gonna take other people’s feelings into account. I’m not going to do that. I’ll scream later on, but ahhh I’m blessed. So blessed. Ready to get to work.”

Carter spent the last four years at Clemson, where he helped the Tigers win two ACC Championships and play in the College Football Playoff.

A two-time All-American, two-time All-ACC selection and 2024 Butkus Award finalist, Carter tallied 254 tackles in his Clemson career, including 31.5 tackles for loss. He also had 12.5 sacks, broke up 24 passes, had three interceptions and forced two fumbles while also recovering three fumbles.
