A frequent visitor is set to return to Clemson this summer.
2027 in-state LB Bubba Alexander (Hammond) tells The Clemson Insider that he will be back on campus in June for Dabo Swinney’s high school camp. Alexander says he plans to attend every day of the camps, which begin on June 3.
Alexander made two visits to Clemson during the spring, attending a spring practice, then returning for the spring game. He also visited for a game last fall, and one the season before. He’s also worked out at camp every summer since he was a youth.
While he is currently a linebacker for his high school team, the 5-foot-11, 200-pound recruit is likely to get some looks as a safety at the next level.
“It would mean everything,” Alexander told TCI in a previous interview. “To have an offer, or even just a chance to play at the next level, is something that most people will never be able to say that they could do. So to get an offer, especially from a prestigious school like Clemson, would be insane. Especially considering the very few kids they give offers out to. So to get a chance to play at the next level, especially at Clemson, would be something that very, very few could say they could have a chance to do.”
As a sophomore last season, Alexander helped lead Hammond to a state title, racking up 110 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 12 quarterback pressures, two sacks and two forced fumbles. He was named second-team All-State and was also a participant in the North-South All-Star game.
