Highly-Touted OL Set to Return to Clemson

A highly-touted offensive lineman will return to Clemson next month.

Four-star Carter Jones (Poquoson, VA) tells The Clemson Insider he plans to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp on June 4. It was his fourth time visiting since last summer. He was accompanied on the most recent visit by his mother and sister.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pound recruit is a prime candidate to pick up one of the Tigers’ opening offers when they start going out in June.

“It’s going to be a blessing,” Jones told TCI in a recent interview. “Because I’ve been waiting for that moment for a while now. I really am very interested in their program and what they’re building there. I think they’re going to have a national championship-contending team again this year.”

Tennessee, South Carolina, Pitt, Duke, Rutgers, Maryland and Penn State all got spring visits too.

Jones already has more than two dozen offers. Ohio State pulled the trigger on Monday, with South Carolina and Indiana doing so last week. Georgia, Auburn, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Penn State are some of his other offers.

On3 ranks Jones No. 194 overall and No. 6 among all interior linemen in the 2027 class.
