Clemson Lands Big In-State Commitment

SPARTANBURG — Clemson has added another big piece to its 2026 recruiting class.

Four-star in-state safety Kentavion “Polo” Anderson (Dorman) announced a commitment to the Tigers on Friday, choosing Clemson over South Carolina and Michigan. This amounts to a big recruiting win for Dabo Swinney’s program over the rival Gamecocks.

“I would like to thank family, coaches and teammates,” Anderson said. “With that being said, for the next three-to four years I will be taking my athletic and academic talents to……”

Head coach Dabo Swinney then joined in by phone and exclaimed, “We are going to Clemson!”

The 6-foot-2, 190-pound prospect has more than two dozen offers in total, including Florida, Southern Cal, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Florida.

Anderson visited Clemson multiple times for game-day visits last season, with the Tigers offering in December. He would return to campus in January after the hiring of new defensive coordinator Tom Allen and then again for the Elite Retreat in March.

The 247 Composite ranks Anderson No. 119 overall, No. 10 among all safeties and No. 2 in the state of South Carolina.

With Anderson’s announcement, Clemson now holds 15 commitments in a 2026 class that is ranked inside the Top 5 nationally. He is the fourth defender to join the class and the second safety, joining four-star Kaden Gephardt.
