TCI Recruiting Roundup: Prominent WR Scratched from Clemson Official Visit Weekend

Over the weekend, one wide receiver was added to the guest list for Clemson’s big official visit weekend, and now we can scratch one.

The Clemson Insider has learned that five-star wideout Cederian Morgan (Benjamin Russell, Alexander, AL) is no longer planning to attend the event being held from May 30 to June 2. Morgan picked up one of the Tigers’ opening offers last June after working out at camp. Morgan will instead take an official visit to Georgia that weekend.

In-state schools Alabama and Auburn have been considered the frontrunners for quite some time, with the 6-foot-4 receiver set to make a commitment on July 2.

As previously reported, three-star Devin Fitzgerald will be on hand that weekend, despite not having yet picked up an offer from Clemson. The 6-foot-2, 195-pound wideout is the son of former NFL All-Pro Larry Fitzgerald. It is one of six official visits he plans to take. He kicked that slate off last weekend with a trip to UCLA. He visited Clemson in the spring.

Official Visit Schedule

  • Clemson: May 30 to June 2
  • Stanford: June 6-8
  • Notre Dame: June 13-15
  • North Carolina: June 20-22
  • Arizona State: TBD

Fitzgerald has more than 30 offers in total, with Florida State, Michigan and NC State being just a few.

Four-star Craig Dandridge (Cambridge, Alpharetta, GA) will also be in attendance that weekend. The 6-foot-2 wideout took his first official to Stanford last weekend. He is set to take four more and is expected to make a decision towards the end of June.
