Recent OL Offer No Longer Planning Official Visit to Clemson

One recent offensive line offer will not be on hand for Clemson’s big official visit weekend.

Three-star Mitchell Smith (Picayune Memorial, MS), who just picked up his offer from the Tigers, will not be on hand for the annual event. Smith took two spring visits to Clemson. His second was for the spring game, when he picked up the offer. Matt Luke had been recruiting Smith since the start of the year, when he visited Smith during the contact period in January.

After his visit for the spring game, Smith told The Clemson Insider he had locked in plans to be at the big official visit weekend beginning on May 30, but will now be at Vanderbilt that weekend. He will then head to Auburn on June 6, Ole Miss on June 13 and Alabama on June 20. The Crimson Tide just offered.

Other offensive linemen that will be on hand include four-stars Carter Scruggs, Leo Delaney and Ekene Ogboko. Three-star Dalton Toothman will also be in attendance. Three-star Fletcher Turk is taking an official to Clemson on June 19.

Four-stars Braden Wilmes, Adam Guthrie, Grant Wise and Chance Barclay are already committed to the Tigers, with the staff looking to add up to two more players at the position.
