Another name can be scratched from the docket for Clemson’s big official visit weekend.

Four-star CB Samari Matthews (Hough, NC) will not be in attendance this weekend. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound prospect will now take an official to Miami this weekend. Florida State, Texas, and South Carolina will also receive official visits.

Matthews has been a frequent visitor to Clemson over the past year, with the last one coming for the Elite Retreat on March 8. He’s also made multiple gameday visits, including the Tigers’ loss to Louisville in early November. However, in recent months, Matthews has been trending away from Clemson.

Clemson already has commitments from two corners in the 2026 class in 4-star Shavar Young and three-star Marcell Gipson. The staff is still looking to add one more to the group, and Matthews was the only player at the position set to attend the big event this weekend.
