One of the better running backs in the 2027 recruiting class will be back in Clemson next week.
Four-star Jerry “Andrew” Beard (Price Avenue Christian, Bogart, GA) tells The Clemson Insider that he will work out at both sessions of Dabo Swinney’s high school camp on Tuesday. Beard was last on campus for the spring game in April and also visited for the Tigers’ win over Virginia in November.
The 5-foot-10, 190-pound back has more than two dozen offers, including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Penn State and Oklahoma. He was recently named RB MVP at a Rivals camp in Atlanta.
Beard’s father was a running back at App State from 2000-02 and his uncle is Garrison Hearst, a running back who starred at Georgia in the early 1990s.
As a sophomore, Beard totaled 2,886 all-purpose yards. Rivals ranks him No. 2 among the all-purpose backs in the 2027 class.
