Highly-Touted RB Looking to Earn Clemson Offer

CLEMSON — One of the better backs in the 2027 recruiting class will return to Clemson this week.

Four-star Andrew Beard (Prince Avenue Christian, GA) will work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school on Tuesday, looking to add one of those coveted offers from the Tigers.

Beard has worked out at camp multiple times in the past. He took a game day visit last fall, then returned for the spring game in March, and those visits have resonated.

“Just the culture and how Dabo makes sure the players are ready for the next level,” Beard told The Clemson Insider. And how he’s huge on school. That’s what my parents are huge on, too. It just matches everything we’re looking for.”

CJ Spiller also took in one of Beard’s spring practices recently as the relationship between Clemson’s running backs coach and Beard continues to grow.

“It has definitely gotten stronger,” Beard said. “When we went to the spring game, he showed a lot of love. It has just been growing slowly.”

With the Tigers now starting to hand out offers to players in the 2027 class, this next trip to campus will be a big one, and for Beard he is coming with one goal in mind.

“Of course, the main goal is to get the offer to Clemson,” Beard said. “But just to show coach what I can do and make sure he believes in me.”

Beard, who recently earned running back MVP honors at a Rivals camp in Atlanta, currently has more than two dozen offers. Georgia, Oklahoma, Penn State and Tennessee are some of the schools currently recruiting him the hardest. One of his most recent visits was to Georgia, and he also plans to camp at Notre Dame.

However, on Tuesday, all of Beard’s attention will be on Clemson in an effort to earn that one offer he doesn’t yet have.

“That would definitely be dope,” Beard said. “My little brother’s favorite team is actually Clemson. So just getting the offer, it would mean a lot to me. I’ve been there a couple of times in the past, and I just love to keep on going back. So it would be huge for me.”
