Clemson Lands First 2027 Commitment

Clemson’s 2027 recruiting class has started with a bang.

Four-star linebacker Max Brown tells The Clemson Insider that he has committed to Clemson, choosing the Tigers over Georgia, Georgia Tech and Ohio State. Brown was offered on Sunday, and he says he committed on the spot.

“The people up there, they do it the right way,” Brown told The Clemson Insider. “They don’t mess around with none of the underground, shady stuff, and they make sure that you’re going to be a better man than you are a football player. But they’re also going to make sure you’re a better football player than you were when you got there.”

The 6-foot-1, 220-pound recruit, who had close to 20 total offers, is the younger brother of current Clemson linebacker Sammy Brown.

As a sophomore, Brown was credited with an eye-popping 152 total tackles, averaging more than 10 stops per game. He added 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries.

Rivals ranks Brown No. 82 overall and No. 4 among all linebackers in the class.
