A former Clemson wideout, now playing in the United Football League, received a nice honor this week.
Deon Cain of the UFL’s Birmingham Stallions was named to the 2025 All-UFL Team.
The All-UFL Team was selected by a panel of league and team executives, coaches and players from all eight teams and broadcast partners. Selections were based on player performances throughout the recently concluded 10-game regular season.
Cain has racked up 29 receptions for 514 yards and six touchdowns in nine games.
Cain ranks third in the UFL in receiving yards, while he is first in yards per reception (17.7) and first in receiving yards per game (57.1). He is second in the league with six receiving touchdowns, behind only former Clemson teammate Cornell Powell, who has caught seven touchdown passes for the DC Defenders.
Cain is also fourth in the league with 421 kick return yards.
In his career at Clemson from 2015-17, Cain hauled in 130 receptions for 2,040 yards and 20 touchdowns over 42 games (14 starts). The Tampa, Fla., native had at least one reception in each of the last 37 games he played.
Cain burst onto the scene as one of Clemson’s biggest downfield threats as a true freshman in 2015, and he was a third-team All-ACC honoree in his final year as a Tiger in 2017, when he recorded 58 receptions for 734 yards and six touchdowns over 14 games.
